Untold Story

About The Farmer & Farm

Rugali is a large community washing station located on the shores of picturesque Lake Kivu. In its four years of existence, the station has gone from a tiny station to playing a large role in the community surrounding the station.

To combat dwindling production from aging coffee trees, Rugali is currently implementing a large planting program to replace old trees to ensure farmers can increase their incomes and produce better coffees. Thousands of seedlings have been distributed to local farmers and a full-time agronomist at the station shares information on improving agricultural techniques to ensure top-tier specialty coffee. Coffees from this station have been used in multiple international barista competitions.
